CanCare Health Services is looking for a?Community RN or RPN to cover some paediatric and?visiting nurse shifts, responsible for promoting optimum health and for preventing ill health amongst children, youth and elders.?The?Community Nurse plays a key role in assessing children's nursing needs, taking into account their medical, social, cultural and family circumstances, and then plan and deliver client centered care in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
RN responsibilities, with a focus on assessment and total care of the paediatric client (0-18 years)
Facilitate family centered care
Willingness to be cross-trained to one other area within the Women's & Children's Health Program

Educational Requirements
Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
Current BCLS/CPR certification required or agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into position
PALS certification required or agreement to obtain within 6 months of commencement into position
2 years recent paediatric experience preferred
Bereavement/palliative nursing care skills an asset Must have 2 step Mantoux test (TB) within last 12 months, criminal and vulnerable police clearance within last 12 months, current First Aid/CPR

Must live in Kingston, Belleville or Napanee
Able to work evenings or weekends
Current police check including criminal and vulnerable screening conducted within the last 12 months
Current CPR and First Aid
Work a minimum 3 days per week Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required with an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team as well as with parents and families from a diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds Good organizational skills, with an ability to be flexible and adapt to effectively meet the changing needs and priorities of the unit Good attendance and work record required.
