CBI Home Health is actively recruiting for On Call Supervisors for their Kingston area Home Care Division. This position will report directly to the Manager of Client Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as a liaison between the CCAC (Community Care Access Centre) and the client
Acts as a public relations person when dealing with client inquiries and concerns
Required to report any incidents/accidents to staff and of Critical Injuries that fall under Section 51 and 52 of OHS Act
Knowledge about their personal Health and Safety Responsibilities under OHS act Section 27 and 28
Coordination of client services after regular working hours and/or weekends
Triages incoming calls, assessment of need for extra visits and/additional service
Arranges for staffing replacement for staff members who are ill, or are otherwise unable to work
Dispatches staff to nursing homes and other institutions as required
Aware of WHMIS protocols and Routine Practices as they apply to the position
Enters data including schedules of visit/service and any other pertinent information into system using Q-Care software
Responsible for communicating all relevant information each morning to Director of Client Services, Service Coordinators and Community Supervisors
Reporting to CCAC any significant changes in client status
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a completed RN or RPN degree or diploma
Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Hold Professional Liability Protection (PLP - if not, CBO requires you must have it by March 31, 2014)
Minimum of three years nursing experience
Comprehensive knowledge of acute care
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Solid typing and computer skills in MS office
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
